Surfing at Balevullin

Either on Loch Bhasapol, or for the more experienced, on the sea. Enthusiasts will find a beach to suit any wind direction!

Quickly rising in popularity, the colourful kites can be seen soaring above the bays.

BalevullinBoard surfing
Balevullin Bay is the main site for those who like to ride the waves without a sail.

Sand buggies with sails have been recently introduced on Gott Bay, and provide fun and a real adrenalin rush for all ages!

These are available for hire at Gott Bay.

There is a nine hole golf course at Vaul. Residents may hire golf clubs from Millhouse, and there is an honesty box on the club house wall for course fees.

Permits are available to allow traditional fly fishing (no spinners) at Loch A’Phuil and Loch Bhasapol, which are stocked with trout.

Sea Wildlife tours
Visit Staffa, Skerryvore Lighthouse, or watch the dolphins, whales and basking sharks from close quarters.

Both mountain bikes and tourers are available from Millhouse. Helmets are provided, and children’s bikes, child seats and a tag-a-long are also available.

The Tiree Pilgrimage Route circumvents the whole island, taking in the ancient chapels and other sites important to the religious heritage of the island. The whole walk is about 30 miles long.
There are also many other beach and machair walks to enjoy. Please follow the Country Access code!

Bird Watching
There is a bird hide above the west shore of Loch Bhasapol, a short walk from Millhouse, and there is a resident RSPB warden on the island.
